Hands-Free Law Announced *Update*

A news release by the Government of Manitoba yesterday states that the hands-free law will commence July 15th.

June 17th News Release:
"Drivers caught texting or using hand-held cellphones could face a fine of almost $200 under a new law that takes effect July 15 under amendments to the Highway Traffic Act, Infrastructure and Transportation Minister Steve Ashton announced today."

With that being said, the Provincial Government's website still does not show a proclamation date for the law.
